Biography

James Judd is a Skyhaven University alumnus, the founder and CEO of Judd Metrology, and the man behind Eagle Wing. His public image represents control, competence, and protection. Beneath that symbol is a fractured internal life shaped by James, Jay, Jack, and the internalized Eagle Wing identity.

Canon history

Backstory

James grew up between invention and expectation. A demanding father taught him to treat excellence as survival, while his mother gave him the emotional safety that made curiosity feel like more than another test. Her death when he was young left him with grief he could not process and an instinct to divide pain into rooms he could keep closed.
He carried that discipline into science, eventually building Judd Metrology around a problem most institutions preferred to exploit: the Altered Gene Complex could not be understood without exact measurement. The company became Skyhaven's authority on activation thresholds, anomalous output, stability, and risk. James saw measurement as protection; his rivals saw a way to price human potential.
A corporate theft involving experimental aerospace systems convinced James that invention without responsibility was simply another weapon waiting to be stolen. His search for a material capable of surviving extreme aerial stress led him to the Aerial Cradle and Nychrion, an indestructible cosmic substance that absorbed and redirected forces ordinary alloys could not endure.
The first Eagle Wing platform translated Judd Metrology's AGC telemetry into flight control, threat prediction, and energy management. James did not become superhuman. He built a system precise enough to let a baseline human survive among altered, mystical, and cosmic beings. Every public rescue strengthened the symbol and made the private man easier to hide.
Sarah Judd's death destroyed the life behind that symbol. The tragedy, the hidden truth surrounding Jake, and the emergence of James's internal identities turned Eagle Wing into both penance and containment. Jay carries humor, invention, and reckless freedom. Jack carries cruelty and rage. James uses the armor, the company, and the mission to insist that one controlled identity can hold the others together.
The Four Faces of Justice begins when that arrangement stops working. Enemies learn that Eagle Wing's greatest vulnerability is not a damaged wing or depleted power core, but the distance between the hero Skyhaven believes in and the fractured man deciding which version of justice reaches the ground.

Origin

James built Judd Metrology around the exact measurement of the Altered Gene Complex, then translated that precision into aerospace systems, defense technology, and the Nychrion-powered wings that allow a pure human to stand beside altered and cosmic beings.
