Redemption dismantles the same GEB systems she once served, using scientific expertise, covert training, and nonlethal weapons while searching for a way to free Lilly from Aurelian Dravos's influence.

Backstory

Mariam Rami Wallace built her career as one of the GEB's strongest scientific field operatives. She understood AGC activation, containment, and covert response well enough to believe the Bureau could protect people despite the corruption inside it.
Her work also brought her close to the Judd family. During an intelligence assignment she entered their household as Jake Judd's nanny and formed a genuine maternal bond with him. The relationship survived the mission and became one of the reasons Mariam could no longer treat people as entries in a GEB objective.
When Dravenloc killed Lilly at the Judd Metrology fundraiser, Mariam refused the finality that Ethan accepted. She followed forbidden files into occult research, made contact with Aurelian Dravos, and completed a resurrection ritual beneath Dominion City. Lilly breathed again, but a fragment of the Inferno Crucible returned with her.
Mariam became Redemption because the miracle was also her greatest mistake. She left the Bureau, repurposed its technology, and began dismantling the programs NΞX used to exploit altered people. Her methods are precise but increasingly ruthless when a target is connected to the GEB or Lilly's condition.
Her conflict with Ethan is not justice against vengeance. Both are grieving parents willing to cross lines. Mariam fights to preserve the possibility of recovery, while Ethan's Vengeance Scale demands a final category for everyone. Each remains the other's best protection against becoming absolute.

Origin

Lilly's death broke Mariam's trust in accepted limits. Forbidden GEB records led her to the Inferno Crucible, where a resurrection ritual returned her daughter alive but cursed and gave Aurelian Dravos a route into the mortal world.
