Character Summary

Wyatt Lane Wilder is a violent marksman whose Falcon's Mark rifle and stolen Chrono Shard fragment let an otherwise human hunter manipulate fractions of a second.

Biography

Bird Shot is the disgraced patriarch of the Wilder family, a former factory foreman and expert hunter who converted humiliation, jealousy, and prison resentment into a paid campaign of assassination.

Canon history

Backstory

Wyatt Wilder built his identity around providing for Brenda, Tyler, and Tiffany, but control mattered to him more than care. The pressure of factory work and his own resentment hardened into violence at home. His affair with Jake Thompson ended the marriage; when Wyatt tried to kill the man he blamed, Eagle Wing and S-DOS stopped him.
Prison did not reform Wyatt. Roman Ross recognized his skill, fed his grievances, and turned him toward the idea that every personal failure had been engineered by someone else. Wyatt emerged as a contract hunter with no interest in repairing what he had done to his children.
The Chrono Shard fragment made him far more dangerous. In short bursts he can slow his perception of the surrounding world, accelerate his own action, or make a micro-jump across a firing position. Each use destabilizes his sense of sequence and leaves migraines, deja vu, and missing fragments of time.
B. Neal built the Falcon's Mark sniper rifle with silent and energy-assisted firing modes, advanced optics, and a targeting intelligence capable of keeping pace with the shard. As Bird Shot, Wyatt now hunts from distances that let him pretend a target is only a calculation, even when the person in his scope is one of the children he failed.

Origin

After an affair destroyed his marriage and a revenge attack put him in prison, Wyatt was manipulated by Roman Ross. He later acquired a Chrono Shard fragment and commissioned B. Neal to build the Falcon's Mark around its unstable temporal signature.

Powers

  1. 01Elite marksmanship

Wyatt is a lifelong hunter and trained long-range shooter capable of reading wind, structure, movement, and escape routes before taking a shot.

  2. 02Chrono Shard micro-shifts

The fragment can briefly accelerate Wyatt, slow his perception of nearby action, or skip him across a very short interval. These are momentary tactical advantages, not unrestricted time travel.

  3. 03Survival and tracking

He can follow people through rural terrain, industrial districts, and damaged urban environments while leaving little evidence of his own route.

Equipment

  1. 01Falcon's Mark rifle

A B. Neal-built precision rifle with AI-assisted optics, suppressed ballistic operation, and an energy-assisted mode synchronized to Wyatt's Chrono Shard fragment.

  2. 02Chrono Shard fragment

A damaged temporal artifact that supplies Bird Shot's time-shift effects. It is powerful, unstable, and slowly eroding his ability to trust his own memory.

  3. 03Hunter's field kit

Camouflage, traps, remote optics, alternate ammunition, climbing equipment, and analog navigation tools support long-duration pursuit.

Weaknesses

  1. 01Pure human physiology

A successful close-range attack can injure or kill Wyatt despite his temporal advantage.

  2. 02Timeline instability

Repeated shard use causes migraines, deja vu, memory gaps, and misplaced certainty about events that may not have happened in the sequence he remembers.

  3. 03Obsession and blame

Wyatt reframes consequence as persecution. Personal grievances, especially those involving Brenda, Tyler, and Tiffany, can override professional discipline.

Trivia

  1. 01
The Chrono Shard does not make Bird Shot faster all the time; it gives him a few stolen instants.
