Character Summary

Tyler Wilder is a GEB survivor whose accelerated perception and surgically integrated knuckle cannons turned a forced experiment into a one-man campaign against the organization that stole his family.

Biography

Cartridge is a tactical vigilante, expert marksman, and escaped Cognitive Chamber subject. He attacks GEB black sites, extracts captive test subjects, and searches for his younger sister Tiffany without pretending that saving her will be clean or simple.

Canon history

Backstory

Tyler Wilder was born on April 9, 1994, and raised in rural Skyhaven by Wyatt and Brenda Wilder. He grew up protecting his younger sister Tiffany while their father's violence and infidelity dismantled the household. When the family collapsed, the foster system that was supposed to separate the children from danger instead placed them inside the GEB's reach.
The Bureau put Tyler through the Cognitive Chamber, a neural environment that compressed tactical training, weapons drills, threat recognition, and psychological conditioning into an unbearable span of subjective time. Handlers tried to remove hesitation and attachment. Tyler survived by returning to memories of Tiffany, using his promise to protect her as an identity the Chamber could not overwrite.
Dr. Victor Voss supervised the next phase. GEB surgeons rebuilt Tyler's right arm around integrated ballistic channels and knuckle-mounted cannons capable of firing specialized ammunition. The work gave him extraordinary combat precision but left chronic nerve damage, migraines, numbness, and a body that still bleeds like any other human body.
During a field test, Tyler sabotaged the GEB communications grid and disappeared into Skyhaven. He adopted the name Cartridge, stole weapons and containment records, and began raiding black sites. He defeated Agent Cassandra Ray by disabling her cybernetics and escaped with AGC containment schematics that exposed how many other subjects were still being held.
His search eventually led back to Tiffany, now the Harbinger of Pandemonium. Their first reunion became a battle: Tiffany saw rescue as another form of control, while Tyler refused to abandon the sister whose memory had kept him alive. Cartridge now fights two wars at once, dismantling the GEB facility by facility while trying to prove that freedom can mean more than choosing which institution owns the weapon.

Origin

After the Wilder children entered foster care, the Genetic Enhancement Bureau redirected them into covert experimentation. Tyler survived a Cognitive Chamber that compressed years of combat conditioning into weeks, then endured surgical modification that routed ballistic channels through his right arm and hands.

Empty channels mean no defensible estimate has been published, never a zero rating.

Powers

  1. 01Accelerated perception

Cognitive Chamber conditioning lets Tyler process movement, trajectories, and tactical changes at exceptional speed. The world does not literally stop; his trained brain sorts threats quickly enough that a chaotic firefight can feel organized into solvable moments.

  2. 02Integrated knuckle cannons

Surgically implanted ballistic channels terminate across Tyler's right hand and knuckles. He can fire compact ammunition without drawing a conventional weapon, switch loads for the target, and use the system at grappling distance.

  3. 03Near-perfect marksmanship

Tyler combines accelerated perception with exhaustive weapon conditioning. He can calculate ricochets, disable equipment without killing its operator, and shift between firearms, blades, and the knuckle-cannon system without breaking tactical rhythm.

  4. 04Cognitive Chamber combat conditioning

The Chamber embedded years of close-quarters combat, escape, infiltration, field medicine, and threat analysis. The knowledge is real, but accessing it can trigger sensory flashbacks from the training environment.

Equipment

  1. 01Knuckle-cannon system

A maintenance-intensive ballistic implant with separate firing channels and a protected internal feed. Tyler carries tranquilizer, shock, armor-piercing, and incendiary loads and chooses force based on the mission.

  2. 02Custom firearms

Cartridge modifies sidearms and compact rifles for fast ammunition changes, suppressed entry, and precise disabling fire. Every weapon is selected to support extraction rather than spectacle.

  3. 03Black-site breach kit

Stolen GEB access tools, signal scramblers, restraints, medical supplies, and hard-copy facility maps let Tyler operate when the Bureau shuts down digital systems.

Weaknesses

  1. 01Human durability

The GEB changed Tyler's processing and weapons integration, not his basic resistance to bullets, blades, blood loss, or blunt trauma. Armor and positioning keep him alive.

  2. 02Neural strain

Heavy use of accelerated perception produces migraines, hand numbness, disorientation, and Cognitive Chamber flashbacks. Severe episodes can blur the difference between current events and conditioning scenarios.

  3. 03Weapon-system dependence

The knuckle cannons require ammunition, calibration, and clean ballistic channels. Electromagnetic pulses, high voltage, or physical damage to the implant can disable the system and injure Tyler's arm.

  4. 04Tiffany

Tyler's belief that his sister can be recovered is his central source of purpose and his most exploitable blind spot. He will abandon a strategically correct plan rather than treat Tiffany as an acceptable casualty.

Trivia

  1. 01
Tyler uses Tiffany's childhood memories as a grounding technique when Cognitive Chamber flashbacks begin.
  2. 02
Cartridge prefers disabling shots because the GEB trained him to treat every living person as an expendable target.
